Callipo Tuna
“Quality above all” has been the Callipo Tuna’s mission since founded in Pizzo, in 1913. Callipo Conserve Alimentari was the first in Calabria, and among the first in Italy to preserve, can and distribute Mediterranean Yellowfin tuna.
Today the company is managed by fourth generation Maierato family members. The exclusively Yellowfin Tuna is responsibly harvested in accordance with the protection of the habitat of the sea. Callipo Tuna is selected from tender and lean whole tuna, which is steam cooked and packed by hand. Most of the company’s product is distributed within Italy, with only 8% exported globally.

Solid Light Tuna either packed in olive oil or in water is packaged in 7oz glass jars to preserve the rich flavored flesh. An excellent source of protein, and rich in heart healthy Omega-3’s, the beautiful, flaky portions of fish are ideal for sandwiches, salads, or a quick pasta puttanesca.
Ventresca, which is the buttery, velvety and tender belly portion of the fish, is packed olive oil in a 4.4oz tin. This prized cut stands alone and is best left to be enjoyed simply. Take pleasure in its velvety texture and flavor.
